I always love a good vegetarian pizza since most restaurants never have a shrimp or any type of seafood crab pizza. So instead of waiting around for establishments to get their ish together, I decided to make my own amazing crab pizza. Of course, I had to create my own sauce for this crab pizza. I’m a big fan of white herbed sauces for pizzas so I decided to give it a try. The white sauce was extremely creamy and herb-filled to compliment the types of cheeses that I used. The white sauce recipe is linked for you to make this dish.
Reasons you’ll love this recipe:
- Very versatile as you can make your own pizza crust.
- Homemade dough or store-bought, it is up to you! Use this recipe for regular or thin crust.
- Great for Friday pizza night or small gathering
- The first bite is so good, you’ll keep eating it!
- Recipe is versatile and you can make into one of your diet keto recipes (by using cauliflower crust)
- Just a great the next day if stored properly
- Amp it up and add shrimp to this recipe!
- Using a medium bowl, drizzle with olive oil and season with old bay seasoning.
Crab: Use fresh crab meat for this recipe as it will need to be placed in the oven. Either jumbo lump crab or regular will be good to use for this recipe. Be sure to season with a little old bay seasoning before placing it on the dough.
White Pizza Sauce: I created this white sauce for this pizza because I believed it would work best for my vision. Infused with herbs (fresh basil, thyme, etc), it is amazing. It may be similar to Alfredo sauce because of the heavy cream so be sure to adjust ingredients as you see fit.
Herb Butter: This herb butter makes the crust more flavorful and pairs well with the white sauce. Brushing a little on the crust or before laying the sauce foundation, goes a long way!
Various Ways to Cook the Crab Pizza Recipe:
Pizza Ovens: If you’re using a pizza oven, make sure you have a pizza peel to rotate the pizza to ensure the ingredients are cooked on all sides. A preheated pizza stone will be ideal for this.
Personal Oven: You may heat your oven to cook this seafood pizza recipe. Heat oven to 400F and place your pizza in a pizza pan or stone to cook. You will need to preheat the oven while prepping your ingredients.
Pizza Dough Options:
Homemade Pizza Dough- benefits of making your own pizza dough is that you can store the remaining dough balls
Store Bought Pizza Dough – can be purchased from any major grocery retailers.
