I’ve had this sauce twice while traveling and both were with a fried seafood dish. Once was in South Caroline with shrimp and the other in Florida with fried fish and I must admit that is is the perfect dipping sauce if you want something other ketchup, ranch, or hot sauce. There is definitely nothing wrong with those choices, but I know that new sauces or anything out of the norm can spice a dish up! Based on the flavor profile this sauce is a cross between yum yum sauce and comeback sauce. Because I was so intrigued, I decided to create a homemade sauce version. Below are detailed instructions on this flavorful sauce and why I chose particular ingredients. I hope you use this boom boom sauce recipe for your french fries, onion rings, fried shrimp, etc!
