I’m a big fan of pizzas with robust flavor and seafood toppings (of course 😉 ). Therefore, I made this sauce as I was preparing for a homemade pizza in which this creamy white garlic pizza sauce came out so good that I had to share it! I had no idea how I was going to make this, but figured I could start with the basics like garlic, cream, etc.

Heavy cream
Garlic cloves, thinly sliced
Lemon to zest and juice

All purpose flour (for thickness)

The ingredients in this recipe pairs extremely well with the dough because it adds a creamy and rich flavor to the pizza crust. This thickness of the sauce also helps hold your pizza toppings in place. Sometimes when you’re eating a pizza with traditional pizza sauce, the ingredients and melty cheese can slide off and potentially burn the skin.
Brief Instructions:
- Drizzle olive oil in a medium sized pan, cook fresh garlic, thyme, bay leaf, pepper, herbs Provence, and a little kosher salt on medium heat until garlic is flagrant.
- Mix in the all purpose flour with the vegetables and herbs for a few seconds.
- Next, add the heavy cream and red pepper flakes and reduce heat to medium-low heat.
- Let the mixture simmer for at least 3-4 minutes while occasionally stirring.
- Add heavy cream and red pepper flakes, turn down the heat, and let the mixture simmer.
- Taste to make sure it is to your liking, you may need to adjust salt and other seasonings.
- Add lemon zest and juice. Stir to combine.
- Taste again and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Once the test is to your liking, remove bay leaf and thyme sprigs

Creamy White Garlic Pizza Sauce
Easy and creamy white garlic pizza sauce for vegetarian or seafood pizzas!
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 1 lemon to zest and juice
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp herbs de provence
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- 2 thyme sprigs
- 1-2 tsp of flour
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- In a medium to small saucepan, cook garlic, thyme, bay leaf, pepper, herbs Provence, and a little kosher salt on medium heat until garlic is flagrant. (See note 2 below.)
- Mix in the all purpose flour with the vegetables and herbs for a few seconds.
- Next, add the heavy cream and red pepper flakes and reduce heat to medium-low heat.
- Let the mixture simmer for at least 3-4 minutes while occasionally stirring.
- Using the back of a spoon, measure the thickness of the sauce. If you would like thicker, add another teaspoon of all purpose flour. If not, go to the next step.
- Taste to make sure it is to your liking, you may need to adjust salt and other seasonings.
- Add lemon zest and the lemon juice. Stir to combine.
- Taste again and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Once the test is to your liking, remove bay leaf and thyme sprigs.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and place the white garlic sauce into an airtight container for storage.
Notes
- Note 1: This sauce goes well with the Crab Pizza recipe.
- Note 2: You may use unsalted butter as an alternative to the olive oil, or you may use both. However, olive oil is preferred.
